Being Human Separate Website For Tees

Salman Khan’s Being Human line of clothes will now be available online too. While the watches are already being sold on beinghumanwatches.com, a separate website for T-shirts is under construction and is expected to be ready by April this year.

The actor, who had set up a website with the help of a few technicians to make the merchandise available on the web last year, admits he didn’t quite like what was created.

Easy access
Talking about his decision to recreate the site, Khan says, “It’s being constructed and it may take some more time because I want the site to be clutter free and easy to access and buy from. Since it is an online store, it should be easy to navigate,” he says.

The actor added, “Hopefully in the next month or two, we should be ready with the website for T-shirts because I’ve been told they are in demand. The last time a retail chain tried selling them online, their website crashed due to heavy traffic.” Khan had also organised a Being Human fashion show with his leading ladies last year, with top actors like Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Sushmita Sen, Bipasha Basu and Kareena Kapoor.

The company which manufactures the Being Human watches only gets a 24 per cent share of the total sales while the remaining amount goes to charity.

There’s also a tie-up with Mandhana Industries for nine years and three months to mass-produce the T-shirts, which at the moment cost minimum R 349 on the racks. “I don’t know anything about these deals. My lawyers would know the exact details. I just want the best for my charity. We do a lot of work on health and education and we want to do a lot more,” he smiles and says. The Salman Khan Foundation is a charitable trust set up by Khan for helping the underprivileged.

It was initially funded by Khan alone. In order to increase the reach and corpus of the Foundation, the actor has undertaken initiatives such as Being Human art and Being Human merchandise. The number of watch designs for guys to choose from is less than those for girls. Also, the women’s watches have been priced lower than the men’s.

Commenting on there being more variety of women’s watches, which incidentally are more reasonable than the watches for men, Khan explains, “I’ve done that on purpose because girls love to have a wide range of watches to go with their clothes.”

He adds, “I have loads of women in my life as friends and family and they’re average women who don’t like compromising on their watches. If watches for them are priced steeply, they won’t buy more than one piece."

Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan at Dinner Together?!

February 07, 2011, (Sawf News) - Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir could be having dinner together, if Madhuri Dixit had her way!

"I would love to invite Shah Rukh, Aamir and Salman to come and have food over at my place. I know Shah Rukh would always praise my cooking, Aamir would give me advice on how the food could be a little better which would help me improve, and Salman would just say 'where's the food, give it to me quickly'," Madhuri told the press in New Delhi while launching celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor's new 24-hour food channel "Food Food".

If they do accept Madhuri's invite, the Khans could be eating a sumptuous fare whipped up by Madhuri's husband, the good doctor Sreeram Nene!

"He loves to cook. It's a natural art. Like I have the affinity for dance, he has natural affinity for cooking. He is also a fast learner. He's the one who aroused my interest in cooking and thanks to him I have become a good cook," says Madhuri.

Hi Fi

Actor Salman Khan's suggestion that Hindi Film Industry should be called Hi Fi and not Bollywood..
Hi Fi (Hindi Film Industry)

Actor Salman Khan's suggestion that Mumbai's Hindi film industry be called Hi Fi - Hindi Film Industry and not `Bollywood' has met with support from colleague Riteish Deshmukh.

"I totally love the term Hi Fi for Hindi film industry, instead of Bollywood," Riteish tweeted, after Salman today mooted the idea.

"Hollywood se Bollywood naam nikla, this is not the name of our industry. Don't know where this ridiculous name has come from and got stuck," Salman said.

"One of the first film productions was called Bombay Talkies, so call it that or Mumbai Talkies or Indian cinema. Call it anything but not Bollywood," he said.

"Bollywood was for when Mumbai was called Bombay," Salman said. He had yesterday said the name `Bollywood' is 'disgusting' and that is not what the Mumbai film industry should be called.

"Hate this bloody name, Bollywood. Koi naam hai kya? disgusting," he had tweeted.

The word 'Bollywood' is commonly used for the Hindi language film industry based in Mumbai and is often incorrectly used to refer to the whole of Indian cinema.
